Reception opening times
Our reception is open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
On two Wednesdays a month the Practice will be closed during the afternoon for staff training purposes.
To provide patients with as many appointment choices as possible, surgeries are run throughout the day at various times. Please contact the practice to arrange a suitable appointment.
For greater flexibility, and to ensure our services are available to those who cannot attend through the day due to work commitments, we offer a late evening service. Our late evening clinic runs every Monday from 6:30pm to 8pm, and includes a GP, Nurse and Healthcare Assistant.
Who to see...
The document above will give you a break down of our clinicians and what they specialise in.
Making an appointment
You can make an appointment in person or by telephone. The practice offers a range of appointment options to enable patients to choose one which suit their needs. We offer both pre-bookable (up to two weeks in advance) and same day appointments. In addition, we offer telephone consultations should you feel a face to face consultation is not required and your problem could be dealt with over the telephone. When contacting the practice please inform the reception team which type of appointment you want and we will endeavour to meet your requirements. If you requre an urgent appointment please try to contact us as early in the morning as possible - our phone lines open at 8am.
Bowling Hall Medical Practice Walk in Clinic
Mondays & Thursdays 1.30pm-2.30pm
The Practice has recently introduced a walk-in clinic every week on Monday and Thursday afternoons.
In order to book in to the walk-in clinic you must book in at the front desk between 1:30pm and 2:30pm. No patients will be booked into the walk-in clinic outside of this time.
The Walk in Clinic provides an alternative that guarantees you will be seen that day but you may have to wait a little longer as there are no set appointment times. As there is no limit to the number of people attending the walk in clinic we cannot control waiting times.
For those patients that prefer a fixed appointment time we still offer pre-bookable and same day appointments. You are also able to book these on line which is easier than having to ring and can be done at any time of the day.
Our doctors typically see four patients at the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit. For this reason, we ask our patients to come to the practice if at all possible. However, we may be able to visit you at home if your condition means you cannot attend the practice. Please ring the practice before 10.30 am to ask for a visit. Please be prepared to tell the receptionist about your condition so we can visit the most urgent cases first. The doctor may wish to speak with you over the telephone before to see if it would be better for you to come to the surgery.
Out of hours service
If you need to see a doctor outside normal surgery hours, please telephone the normal practice number – 01274 224 888 – and you will be directed to our emergency on-call doctor service. Alternatively, West Yorkshire Urgent Care provide the out of hours service for the practice and can be contacted direct on 0345 605 99 99. A further option is to contact the NHS helpline by dialing 111 or consult NHS Direct online at www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk.
Please note the practice is not responsible for the provision of out of hours services. Any complaints or suggestions should be directed to Bradford and Airedale NHS.
