On occasion a GP may prescribe you what is known as an 'acute' medication. This is a medication which has not been added to your list of 'Repeat' items, which may be because the GP wants to trial the medication to see what effect it has, or if it is something which is only meant to be used for a short period of time. If you feel that you need a further supply of these medications, please contact the surgery over the phone or via the reception desk, or use the online prescription request form or SystmOnline. In these cases, the request for medication must go to a doctor for review. In some cases they may decide that they need to see you before they can issue a further supply of the medication. After you have made your request, please contact the surgery after 5pm the same day to see whether the doctor is happy to issue the medication, or if they need to see you first.
Note that if you have never had a medication from us before and it is not a repeat item, you will need to see a doctor before it will be issued.
