New Patient Registrations
Looking for a doctor?Please contact the practice and arrange to complete a new patient registration form and health questionnaire.  You will need proof of identity and proof of address with you when you register.

Late Night Clinics
We are pleased to announce that we now hold late night appointments up until 7:30pm every Monday night. Please note that reception is closed to general queries and prescription collections.

Cancellations
Please try to keep your appointment and arrive at the surgery in good time. If you are unable to make your appointment, please tell us as soon as possible so we can offer your appointment to another patient.

Out of Hours
If you need to see a doctor outside normal surgery hours, please telephone the normal practice number – 01274 224 888 – and you will be directed to our emergency on-call doctor service.  Alternatively, you can call 111 for any health queries.

Test results
Please telephone after 2pm for test results.

Bowling Hall Medical Practice has a team of highly trained staff, from Receptionists and Administration staff to GPs and Nurses, who are all comitted to providing patients with the best available care.

 

Doctors

Dr Helen Dewhirst (f)

MB ChB, MRCGP, DGM, DCH
GP Partner
Normal days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
Helen graduated from Liverpool Medical School in 1988 and after spending time with a Practice in Derbyshire moved to Bradford to get married and joined the Practice in 1997. Helen has special interest in Older People and Women’s Health. 


She has worked with the other GPs in developing the medical student teaching and the FY2 support within the practice. Helen is recognised as a GP Trainer and is now very involved with teaching the junior doctors that carry out their specialist training at the practice. Helen is mentor to one of the GP Registrars on placement at the practice. Helen is recognised by the CCG as the clinical lead for the Practice.



 

Dr Amanda Nix (f)

MB ChB, DFSRH, MRCGP
GP Partner
Normal days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 
Amanda graduated from Leeds Medical School in 1993 and has been associated with the practice since 1998. She then spent 2 years as a VSO in Outer Mongolia working as a GP lecturer at the Medical University of Mongolia and helped a Mongolian GP set up a non-governmental organisation to develop primary health care and to work with grass roots GPs and practice nurses. 


Amanda has special interest in Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Family Planning and Sexual Health. Amanda is the lead for our Sexual Health and Contraceptive Services clinics, working alongside the practice team and community nurses. 


Amanda became a GP Trainer in August 2009 and works with the other GPs to support all the other teaching and training within the practice. Amanda is the mentor to one of the GP Registrars on placement with the practice.


 

Dr Danielle Frame (f)

MB BS, MRCGP
GP
Normal days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
Danielle qualified from Newcastle University in 2009 and completed her GP training in the North East of England and Mid Yorkshire.


Danielle has an interest in musculoskeletal medicine and provides steroid joint injections for our patients. Danielle also has a passion for elderly medicine.


 

Dr Jennifer Hartley (f)

Usual days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday



Dr Hartley qualified from Leeds University in 2011 and completed her GP training in Bradford.


Dr Hartley has an interest in problems relating to the Ear, Nose and Throat.


 

Dr Anna Hepworth (f)

MB Chb, MRCGP 

GP 

Usual days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

Anna graduated from the University of Leeds in 2008 and completed her GP training in Bradford.

 

Anna has interests in musculoskeletal medicine and child health as well as medical education, particularly of medical students during their GP placement time.

 

Dr Ibrahim Mahmood (m)

Usual days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Dr Mahmood qualified from Manchester University in 2010 and completed his GP training in the North East of England and Yorkshire.

Dr Mahmood has an interest in mens health issues and in paediatric medicine.
